About the Event

  • The biggest annual multi-cultural festival in the city is going to be held for an 11th time on May 21st at Busan Citizens Park. Come and Enjoy World Cultural Performances, World Arts & Crafts and Foods, and Flea Markets from many diffrent Countries.

  • Size : Approximately 100 exhibitors representing 30 countries
  • Visitors : Approximately 30,000 people

Travel the World in Busan, Attend World Cultural Class (for students)

Busan Foundation for International Cooperations has been operating World Cultural Class to promote understanding of other cultures and promoting mutual exchange between the Korean and foreigners by learning cultures and languages since 2010.
You can learn basic languages like greetings and experience various cultures for 8 weeks.

    Classification Contents
    Period * 3 terms in a year(8 weeks/term, 1/week, 120 minutes/session)
    ➠ Term 1:Mar.~May, Term 2:June~Aug., Term 3: Sept.~Nov.
    ※Language coaching is provided to those who completed World Cultural Class
    (for 4 weeks after each term)
    Expense * 10,000 won
    Contents * Foreigners in Busan are a lecturer providing a chance for mutual exchange with Busan citizens
    ➠traditional culture, history, pop culture, language, cultural experience, etc.
    ➠Culture 50%, language 50%
    Target * Busan citizens(Koreans, foreigners) Number of people Around 25(per class)
    Language * Korean or English Place BFIC lecture room and exchange room
    Lecturer * Foreigners living in Busan(international students, foreigner community, etc.)

Notice of Teachers’ Application for 「Global Citizenship Education」! (for Teachers)

Busan Foundation for International Cooperations operates「World Cultural Class」for Busan citizens to provide the opportunity to experience
various cultures of the world and to learn about foreign languages. We are inviting foreign teachers who are willing to share their amazing cultures and teach their languages for this program!

OVERVIEW

  • Class Period : Class Period : 3 terms in a year
    (Term 1:Mar.~May, Term 2:June~Aug., Term 3: Sept.~Nov. )
  • Venue : Busan Global Center ※located at Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje-gu(near City hall)
  • Class Duration : 120 mins, Once a week (total 8 class periods)
  • Class Contents : Introducing cultures, languages and organizing outdoor activities
  • Class time : Choose your convenient time (Amongst 1~16, except marked X)

General Support

  • 40,000 won per class (120 mins)
  • Certificate will be awarded to each teacher
  • Class equipments provided (a computer, presentation screen, a projector etc)

Qualification

  • Ability to introduce own culture and teach your native language in Korean or English.
  • Availability to prepare and conduct classes during the program duration
  • Teaching or relevant experiences and fluency in Korean will be preferred

Global Supporters

College students(undergraduate/graduate/foreign) in Busan who have full of enthusiasm for international activities can join various activities and programs of BFIC.

What is Busan Global Supporters?

  • Busan Global Supporters are mainly comprised of college students in Busan, and they will be provided with opportunities to broaden their international experiences and to prepare themselves to interact others through their own programs.

Main Activities

  • Supporting BFIC programs : Participating various international activities organized by the BFIC, Operating the BFIC website in multiple languages, etc.
  • Holding events for Busan Citizens and foreigners : Providing an opportunity to gather locals and foreigners together through various events
  • Promoting BFIC(On/Offline)

Apply & Activity Period

  • Apply: 1st period(Feb.5 ~ Feb. 22) / 2nd period(Jun. 22 ~ Jul. 10)
  • Activity : 1st period(Mar. ~ Jul.) / 2nd period(Aug. ~ Dec.)

Benefits

  • You will get a training session to effectively accomplish the volunteer role.
  • You will be given priority over other applicants when applying for BFIC programs.
  • You will get credit for approved volunteer work via 1365 or get paid.(You can choose only one option)
  • You will get a volunteer certificate and award.
