On Saturday, July 23, the 2022 KOREA-ASEAN Yout Ambassador Virtual Leadership Program was held. The event, which was held to promote youth exchanges between Busan and ASEAN cities, was held online, and five ASEAN cities, Bangkok, Cebu, Singapore, Surabaya, and Phnom Penh participated. The event, in which 24 students from five ASEAN cities, including Busan, participated, was held with Laura McLuckie, the host of the Busan English Broadcasting, and all sessions were held in English.

The three-hour program consisted of five sessions: Opening Ceremony, Special Lecture, Group Vlog Mission, Group Presentation Mission & Wrap-up, and Closing. In the opening order, there was a welcoming video greeting from Chung Jong-pil, secretary general of the BFIC, followed by a welcoming greeting from Busan-Bangkok-Cebu-Singapore-Surabaya-Pnom Penh officials. Ather that, Laura's lecture on global leadership capabilities took place. Under the theme of “Communication is the first step to come a global leader“, we learned the importance of communication skills.

Subsequently, the Group Vlog Mission proceeded. Under the theme of "Changes in youth students after COVID-19," we watched V-log videos taken by countries on changes in school life after COVID-19. It was a session where we could find common ground that school life in each country was similar after COVID-19. Next, a Group Presentation Mission session was held under the theme of “Coexistence of Human and Environment - Carbon Neural Action Plan for Environmental Sustainability”. Students shared carbon neutral practices for a sustainable environment and were able to check various opinions of students from Busan and five ASEAN countries.

Through the final closing session, it was confirmed that all six cities in six countries, Busan, Bangkok, Cebu, Singapore, Surabaya, and Phnom Penh, were the winners. And guide was given about The certificate of completion and Busan-kit will be provided in the future. In addition, through the sharing the feelings of their participation, the students said that it was a meaningful time to interact with ASEAN and Busan through this program.

Through the 2022 ASEAN Youth Ambassador Leadership Program, which was held successfully, we think it was a very beneficial time to promote the bond between Busan and ASEAN sister cities and learn about each other. In the future, more youth exchanges and events will be held between sister cities, so please pay a lot of attention.
